LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services is the federally designated organ donor program serving a 36-county region of northern Florida and is responsible for recovering and distributing organs used in life-saving transplants.
Jacksonville Transplant Alliance
One of the oldest of 58 organ procurement organizations in the United States, LifeQuest is part of University of Florida Healthcare. Headquartered in Gainesville, the organization also has locations in Jacksonville, Tallahassee and Pensacola. LifeQuest works with Donate Life Florida, the non-profit organization responsible for maintaining Florida's organ, tissue and eye donor registry.
In addition to clinical staff dedicated to organ recovery and family advocacy, LifeQuest also has staff who guide its donor family services program, as well as public education to increase understanding of organ and tissue donation to enhance donor registration. Within the 36-county region LifeQuest covers, nearly 60 percent of residents are registered. This is above the national average of 54 percent. Florida has the nation's third largest donor registry, and LifeQuest is honored to be a part of efforts to keep the registry strong and growing. It is all part of our organization's Vision, Mission and Values.
VISION: A transplant for every patient in need
MISSION: To honor individuals' donor designations, to ensure families' opportunities to donate and to maximize the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
VALUES: It is our privilege and honor to serve and support Florida's donate and transplantation community and to help those in need of life-saving and life-enhancing transplants. It is the patients in need who motivate us and the selfless donors who humble us.
