Jacksonville Transplant Alliance

The Jacksonville Transplant Alliance is a community of individuals and transplant-related organizations in the Northeast Florida area who are dedicated to providing donor education through social media, community events, and educational forums. Our goal is to increase the number of registered donors and to help recipients, their families, donor family members, and others within our community become greater ambassadors of organ and tissue donation so that together, we may save lives and shorten the waiting time for those awaiting transplant.

The World Health Assembly has designated 2020 the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife to honor of the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth and to advance nurses’ vital role in transforming health care around the world.

National Donate Life Month has passed, but here some ways you can promote organ, tissue, and eye donation year-round on social media.

Nurses are Superheroes in Scrubs

Thank you to all the wonderful men and women who not only care for us, but who, in the face of many challenges, lift us up, make us smile, are our cheerleaders and support, and who often do it all with little or no thanks. Happy National Nurses Week and Month...thank you for all you do.

The JTA board has decided that in the best interest of everyone's health, the only responsible thing to do was to cancel this year's Gift of Life Celebration. It was a difficult decision, but with the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in Florida and the uncertainty about the fall months, we simply decided that cancelling the event was our only option.

We are sad about having to cancel, but hope for a better situation next year when we can all gather again to celebrate the Gift of Life!  As next summer approaches, we will keep you updated on our event.  For now, please stay safe and stay well, everyone.

Keep up-to-date on news and upcoming events the JTA and its member organizations are involved in by reading our quarterly e-newsletter. You may also sign up to receive the monthly newsletter by email by completing the newsletter signup form.
